New Skills Agenda for Europe – ECEG attends launch event

Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Ms Marianne Thyssen and Vice-President Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis together with other high-level representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, OECD et al launched the new Skills Agenda for Europe and invited member states, social partners and businesses to work together. Ten actions to help equip people in Europe with better skills, improve the quality of skills and their relevance for the labour market include, inter alia, a skills guarantee, a review of the European Qualification Framework and a Blueprint for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills. ECEG welcomes the new skills agenda and looks forward to getting involved in its implementation.
