UPDATE – Our Future Workplace: Digital transformation in the chemical industry

Key dates 2018

  • Project launch: January 2018
  • Online survey and expert interviews:  20 July – September 2018
  • Stakeholder Conference Tallinn, Estonia: 18 – 19 October 2018
The European social partners of the chemical industry, industriAll European trade union and the European Chemical Employers Group (ECEG) manage activities for a two-year project cycle within their social partner project.

What is the issue?
Innovation and digital transformation spread across all sectors and affect competitiveness, growth and the labour market in Europe. This social partner project will study its impact on the European chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber and plastics industry.
Based on an EU-wide research survey and expert interviews, project partners aim to formulate a social partner joint action plan as to how to anticipate, prepare and manage change in the workplace as a result of innovation and digital transformation in three domains: skills, working patterns and health & safety.

Over a period of 24 months, 16 experts out of 8 EU Member States will steer the project, each bringing their specific sectoral knowledge and experience from national trade unions and employer associations in the areas of social dialogue, digital transformation and employment policy.

How can you get involved?
We look for experts on digitalisation, HR, training, health & safety and work organisation who would like to participate in our stakeholder survey. This 20 – 25 minutes survey will allow us to get an insight in current awareness levels, developments and future needs. You will have the unique opportunity to become part of a European research project which will be disseminated to EU officials and stakeholders.
Please pencil 18-19 October 2018 in your agendas to attend our stakeholder conference in Tallinn, Estonia. ECEG and industriAll Europe affiliates will discuss with European stakeholders, regional experts and representatives of the national government of our host country. Travel and accommodation costs are covered.

UPDATE: The stakeholder survey is now online available.
