What is ECEG?
The European Chemical Employers Group (ECEG) represents the chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber and plastics industries in Europe. As a Brussels-based social affairs organisation it is a recognised social partner and a consultative body for the European Commission, Parliament and other stakeholders. Through our members, we represent approximately 3.3 million direct employees in more than 94.000 companies. We are a recognised European sectoral social partner since 2002 and are engaged in the social dialogue for almost 14 years.
What do we do and what are our objectives?
We conduct social dialogue and we advocate for employers’ interests opposite the European Institutions including the trade unions, especially industriAll Europe through negotiation and partnership. Our objectives are to work with chemical employer associations across Europe to deliver a strong coordinated representation to all EU stakeholders for chemical business.
What do we want to achieve through the social dialogue?
- To work effectively with the European Commission and Trade Unions on behalf of the chemical sector;
- To help secure Europe as a place for chemical business to invest;
- To have a social dialogue that delivers for all parties and for who they represent, and
- To be a source of reference for social affairs type information about the sector.
