What is ECEG?
The ECEG (European Chemical Employers Group) represents the chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber and plastics industries in Europe. As a Brussels-based social affairs organisation it is a recognised social partner and a consultation body of the European Institutions and other stakeholders. Which personal data does ECEG collect?
The data we collect can include your organisation’s name, job title, first name, last name, telephone number, billing address, e-mail, photo, bio (if you are a speaker at one of our events), language preference as well as where applicable, attendance at our meetings or events.

How does ECEG collect personal data?
As a ECEG member or an external stakeholder, you may provide us with personal data information when using our website, interacting with us on social media or registering for events of our organisation.
Generally we collect personal data directly from you, but we may sometimes obtain personal data from third parties such as directories or EU institutions websites.

Why does ECEG collect personal data?
The information that you provide us with will be used for the purpose of contacting you, fulfilling your online requests or providing you with relevant and updated information about our organisation, its activities and positions.
In particular, ECEG processes personal data for the following purposes:

  • For membership management and general administration: ECEG processes personal data of the contact persons of its members for the purpose of administering or informing its membership or for the governance of the association. ECEG also processes the personal data of representatives and contact persons of entities with which ECEG contracts, such as services providers or consultancies.
  • For publication and advocacy purposes: ECEG carries advocacy activities. The association therefore processes contact details of journalists, Members of European Parliament, officials from the European Commission and from EU Member States, academics, consultants and industry experts.
  • For events organisation: ECEG processes identification details of registered participants to events and conferences it organises for the purpose of managing the registration, invoicing and participation to such events. A list of attendees might be shared among participants during ECEG’s events, for networking purposes.
  • For information purposes: ECEG processes identification data from individuals who give their express consent to receive newsletters or information from ECEG.

How long does ECEG keep personal data?
Your personal data will be kept as long as you are a designated person of your organisation in relation with ECEG or its members and for the time that is strictly necessary to achieve the purpose(s) for which they were collected.

As a non-profit organisation ECEG does not share or sell any personal data to third parties for any commercial purposes.
